SALKANTAY

The Salkantay Trek, named among the 25 best shows in the world by National Geographic Adventure Travel Magazine, is a trek for everyone. Connecting the city of Mollepata, Cusco, with Machu Picchu, Salkantay Trek is an ancient and remote trail located in the same region of the famous Inca Trail.

Located less than fifty kilometers northwest from Cusco city, south of central Peru, in the Vilcabamba mountain range that reaches 6271 meters above sea level. Salkantay is a summit with glaciers out of the ordinary, a unique experience for travelers who love adventure.

Day 1 SALKANTAY TEKKING BEGINNIG

  • Pick up from the hotel in Cusco.
  • Stop at Mollepata village.
  • Transfer to Challacancha.
  • Briefing and then beginning of trekking.
  • Arrive at the Soraypampa camp.
  • Lunch and rest.
  • Excursion to Humantay Lagoon 1.5 hours approx.
  • Return to the camp.
  • Dinner.

Day 2 SALKANTAY´S CAMP

  • Breakfast.
  • Start of trekking in Salkantaypampa 1 hour approx.
  • Rest.
  • Walk to Soyrococha 1 hour approx.

  • Downhill to Wayracpampa 1.5 hours approx.

Day 3 SALKANTAY´S CAMP

  • Beginning of the hiking trip 40 min approx.
  • Walk to the Wiñaypoco Village 2 hours.

  • Overnight stay in camp.

Day 4 ARRIVAL TO MACHU PICCHU

  • Breakfast.
  • Start of the trekking.
  • Stop at Llactapata.
  • Walk to the Acobamba Valley for 2 hours.
  • Lunch.
  • Walk up to Machu Picchu Pueblo 3 hours approx.
  • Dinner.
  • Overnight in the hostel.

Day 5 MACHU PICCHU´S GUIDED VISIT / RETURN TO CUSCO

  • Breakfast.
  • Guided tour to Machu Picchu.
  • Free time available.
  • Transfer by train to Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo.
  • Reception at the railway station.
  • Transfer to the city of Cusco.
  • End of our services.

IMPORTANT NOTE

  • Prices are expressed in American Dollars per person.
  • Rates of hotels considered with application of exemption of IGV, valid only for foreigners not resident in Peru.

For the exemption of the IGV, all guests must present their passport with the stamp of migrations and the Andean stamp card migration card with less than 60 days in the year within the Peruvian territory (Legislative Decree 919) at the time of check in, in case otherwise you will have to pay the 18% tax directly at the hotel.
